Men’s Tennis’ moves doubles pair into to qualifying round of 16 at ITA All-Americans

Sophomores Sebastian Eriksson and Oliver Ojakaar advanced with a ranked win on Monday.
Tulsa, Okla. – Texas Men's Tennis sophomore doubles pair 8 seed No. 46 Sebastian Eriksson and Oliver Ojakaar moved into the qualifying draw round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships on Monday.
The duo defeated No. 83 Matthew Rankin and Nicolas Arseneault of Kentucky, 6-4, 7-5, in the afternoon. Earlier in the day, Ojakaar had also competed in singles qualifying, but fell to No. 123 Jakub Vrba of Arkansas, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2, in the opening round of 64.
Sophomore Evan Burnett, who had emerged from singles prequalifying into the qualifying draw, was also downed, 7-6 (5), 6-0, to 7 seed No. 68 Diogo Morais of UC Santa Barbara.
Eriksson and Ojakaar will return to the court on Tuesday against 9 seed No. 64 Ondrej Jorak and Karim Al-Amin of Middle Tennessee at 2 p.m. CT, while Burnett will play in the qualifying consolation draw against No. 61 Michael Minasyan of Wisconsin at 11:30 a.m. CT.
