Longhorns are the lone SEC program with a co-nation’s best three selections
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas standouts Dylan Volantis, Carson Tinney and Aiden Robbins collected their second preseason All-America honors, earning recognition from D1Baseball on Monday.
Volantis was listed on the second team, while Tinney and Robbins were both slotted on the third team. The trio also landed spots on Perfect Game's preseason All-American teams earlier this month.
A consensus All-American last season, Volantis paced all freshmen nationally WHIP (0.88) and saves (12). Among Division I rookies, the Baseball America Freshman of the Year also ranked second in ERA (1.94) and B/AVG (.185).
In conference play, Volantis' 11 saves were the most by an SEC freshman ever, breaking a 22-year-old record held by Ole Miss' Steven Head. The NCBWA Freshman Pitcher of the Year and SEC Pitcher of the Year finished tied for 10th in the country in saves.
As a sophomore at Notre Dame in 2025, Tinney was tabbed a consensus All-American. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound backstop paced all Power Four bats in WRC+ (179) and wOBA (.535), while logging the second-highest OPS (1.251).
Tinney, who was a finalist for the prestigious Buster Posey Award, led the Irish in 10 offensive categories, highlighted by his .348 average, 17 home runs, .498 on-base percentage and .753 slugging percentage.
A transfer from Seton Hall, Robbins checked in fifth nationally in on-base percentage (.537) and sixth in average (.422).
The ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team selection and All-Big East First Team pick mounted team-highs in average, runs (63), hits (86), doubles (19), total bases (133), walks (44), on-base percentage, slugging (.652), stolen bases (20) and multi-hit performances (26).
