No. 4 Women’s Basketball wins final regular season home game over No. 23 Georgia, 79-50

Longhorns finish with 18-0 record at Moody Center in the regular season.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 4 Texas women's basketball team completed an 18-0 mark at home in the regular season and pushed their home win streak to 42 games as they beat No. 23 Georgia 79-50 on Thursday at Moody Center.
Madison Booker led Texas (27-3, 12-3) with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Breya Cunningham and Kyla Oldacre added 14 points each.
To start off the game Justice Carlton scored the first bucket and Rori Harmon had a steal. This led to a 11-0 run by the Longhorns. Texas caused three turnovers in two minutes which helped them go on a 9-0 run, also shooting 5-for-5 during this time. Texas finished the quarter shooting seventy-six percent going 13-for-17, with eight caused turnovers on the Georgia Bulldogs. The Longhorns lead at the end of the quarter 28-11.
Texas and Georgia fought back and forth defensively throughout the start of the second quarter. The Longhorns picked up the pace by going on a 10-0 run while also holding the Bulldogs to no field goals for five minutes. The score at the end of the half was 49-18 with Texas ahead.
Madison Booker led the half scoring 13 points and grabbing four rebounds. Carlton was following just behind her with scoring 12 points for the Longhorns. As a team Texas shot 71 percent and created 12 turnovers on Georgia.
The Longhorns kept their lead throughout the third quarter and at the 4:37 mark they went on another run of 6-0, scoring three straight buckets. Ending the quarter Ashton Judd got a steal adding a fifth steal for Texas in just the third quarter alone. The Longhorns kept their lead with a score of 67-34.
During the final quarter of the game Texas stayed in front, despite Georgia fighting back. The final score was 79-50. Texas caused 24 turnovers, a season high for the Bulldogs. They also led in points off turnovers (27-4), bench points (25-7), and steals (14-5).
Up next the Longhorns will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play the No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide. They will play at Coleman Coliseum on Sunday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. CT, the game will be televised on SEC Network.
