No. 4 Women’s Basketball wins regular season finale over No. 24 Alabama, 72-65

Longhorns finish the regular season 28-3 overall and 13-3 in the SEC.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Madison Booker moved into seventh on the Texas career scoring list and the No. 4 Texas women's basketball picked up a 72-65 road win at No. 24 Alabama on Sunday.
Booker led Texas with 21 points and added nine rebounds. Jordan Lee and Kyla Oldacre each scored 11 points for Texas. Lee dished out five assists and added four steals.
Jordan Lee scored the first five points for Texas (28-3, 13-3) and Justice Carlton found Breya Cunningham in the post for a layup to put Texas up 11-4.
Cunningham scored six first half points and the Longhorns finished the half with a 6-0 run to take a 29-20 lead into halftime.
Texas started the second half with an 8-0 run and Booker scored six straight points for the Longhorns to put Texas up 37-20. Booker reached 1,800 career points and moved into seventh on the Longhorns all-time career scoring list.
The Longhorns led 49-37 going in the fourth quarter with Booker leading the way with 12 points.
Alabama cut the Texas lead to five at 49-44 at the 8:11 mark of the final period. Justice Carlton knocked down a 3-pointer to put Texas up 57-46 with 5:09 to play. Booker followed with a drive to the basket and layup. Booker was fouled and made the free-throw to put Texas up 60-46.
Up next the Longhorns will travel to Greenville, S.C. for the SEC Tournament. The Longhorns first game will be on Friday, March 6.

• Texas improved to 28-3 overall and 13-3 in the SEC.
• Texas won their 12th game of the season against a ranked opponent, which is the most of any team in the country.
• Madison Booker scored 21 points and moved into seventh on the Texas career scoring list. Booker now has 1,813 points. This was her 13th game of the season scoring 20 or more points and 41st time doing so in her career.
• Jordan Lee scored in double figures for the 24th time this season.
• Texas grabbed 14 offensive rebounds and held a 11-4 advantage in second chance points.
• The Longhorns held Alabama to nine points in the second quarter, which marked the 22nd time this season they have held an opponent to single digits in a quarter.
