Senior Luke Potter earned a second-place finish at the Arizona N.I.T. with a 12-under 204.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas senior Luke Potter has been named the Southeastern Conference Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This marks the first career weekly SEC award for Potter, who shared the honor with Texas A&M's Aaron Pounds.
Potter is the third Longhorn to claim an SEC weekly accolade during the 2025-26 season. Matt Comegys (Sept. 24) and Christiaan Maas (Oct. 1 and Oct. 15) previously earned similar recognition.
Potter earned a second-place finish at the Arizona N.I.T. (Jan. 26-27) with a 54-hole score of 12-under 204 (66-68-70), just two strokes behind medalist Filip Jakubcik of Arizona at 14-under 202. Potter helped the Longhorns to the team title in their first tournament of the spring with a score of 41-under 823 (275-270-278), topping host Arizona by one stroke (40-under 824).
Potter's second-place effort marked a season-best performance, bettering his sixth-place effort at The Williams Cup. He recorded 16 birdies against just four bogeys during his 54 holes of competition. On the season, Potter has competed in four events and sports a 70.75 stroke average over 12 rounds. He has shot par or better in eight of his 12 rounds, including two rounds in the 60s.
Potter and the No. 4 Longhorns are back in action later this week on Feb. 5-7 (Thursday-Saturday) at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waimea, Hawaii.
