No. 5 Softball preview: at No. 13 Georgia

Texas and Georgia will meet for just the fourth time in program history on Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 5 Texas Softball hits the road to No. 13 Georgia on April 18-20 at Jack Turner Softball Stadium in Athens, Ga. Saturday's series opener will begin at 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network, Sunday's game two is slated for 11 a.m. on ESPN and Monday's series finale will start at 6 p.m. on SEC Network. Beth Mowins (play-by-play) and Michele Smith (analyst) will be in the booth for all three games.

Notes
- Texas and Georgia will meet for just the fourth time in history and first time since 2015 on Saturday. Georgia leads the all-time series, 2-1. It'll be the first matchup between Texas and Georgia in Athens.
- Saturday will be Texas' 10th-straight game against a top-15 opponent. The Longhorns are 13-6 against ranked opponents this season. Texas is in the middle of a 13-game stretch against ranked opponents.
- Junior first baseman Katie Stewart has homered a career-high 22 times this season and needs one home run to tie Reese Atwood's single-season program home run record (23). Stewart needs two home runs to set a new single-season record.
- Last weekend vs. Oklahoma, junior RHP Teagan Kavan became the sixth player in program history to eclipse 500 career strikeouts. Kavan, who has 508 career strikeouts - tied for sixth-most in program history, joins Cat Osterman (2,265), Blaire Luna (1,428), Meagan Denny (988), Christa Williams (678) and Tiarra Davis (508).
- Texas remains in the top-10 across all four major polls this week in ESPN.com/USA Softball, NFCA, D1Softball and Softball America. Texas has been ranked in 69-consecutive NFCA Coaches polls.
- Texas is fresh off of the program's first Women's College World Series (WCWS) National Championship in 2025. The Longhorns finished the historic season with a program-record 56 victories and a 56-12 overall record.
- The Longhorns' 10-2 postseason run in 2025 culminated with a 2-1 Championship Series (third appearance in four years) win over Texas Tech. In the winner-takes-all game three, the Longhorns clinched a 10-4 victory.
- With a series win at No. 13 Georgia, it would clinch Texas' highest ranked series road victory since defeating then-ranked No. 3 Florida on March 15-17, 2025.

- Texas head coach Mike White's .788 career win percentage is the fourth-highest amongst NCAA DI active head coaches.
Grueling Gauntlet
- Texas is in the midst of a 13-game slate against top-25 opponents, including 12-consecutive games against opponents ranked inside the top-15.
- Saturday will be UT's 10th-straight contest against a top-15 team.
- Texas is facing its fourth-consecutive top-15 conference series and its third ranked conference away series of the season. All three of Texas' away series so far this season have been against ranked foes.
