THE MATCHUP — No. 6 Texas closes out its 2026 regular season slate, welcoming the Missouri Tigers to UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The longtime league foes have met 67 times, with the Longhorns boasting a 37-30 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, Texas swept Missouri in Columbia. Across the three-game set, the Longhorns outscored the Tigers, 29-9.
A LOOK AT THE LONGHORNS — As of May 13, the Longhorns sport the No. 4 RPI and No. 6 SOS in the country. Texas has compiled 14 Quad 1 wins, trailing only Georgia Tech (16) and Florida (15) nationally. The Longhorns have notched the seventh-best scoring margin in all of Division I Baseball, averaging a +3.7 run differential. On the mound, Texas ranks second in FIP (3.25), fifth in WHIP (1.22) and 17th in ERA (4.07). At the plate, the Longhorns' .918 OPS sits 24th nationally.
THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU — Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, Texas is a consensus top-7 team. The Longhorns check in as high as No. 5, according to USA Today. Texas is also slotted at No. 6 by D1Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game. Meanwhile, the NCBWA listed the Longhorns at No. 7. With three games remaining in conference play, Texas is tied for second, alongside Texas A&M.
IT JUST MEANS MORE — Since Jim Schlossnagle's first campaign in the SEC in 2022, he has won more conference series than any other coach in the league. Over that near five-year run, Schlossnagle's 36 SEC series wins stack up ahead of Dan Van Horn (32), Kevin O'Sullivan (29), Jay Johnson (27) and Tony Vitello (27). With Schlossnagle at the helm last year, Texas became the first team to win the SEC in its first season since the league's inaugural campaign in 1933. The Longhorns — who were picked eighth in the conference's preseason poll — won the league by two games. Texas' 22-8 ledger in SEC action marked its best record in conference play since 2010. The Longhorns were the lone team to win eight series in league action.
IN A LEAGUE OF OUR OWN — With a 13-6 victory at Tennessee on Sunday, Texas became the first-ever college baseball program to reach 1,500 conference wins. As members of the Southeastern Conference, the Longhorns have registered a 38-18 (.679) ledger since joining the league ahead of the 2025 campaign. Across 28 years in the Big 12, Texas notched 422 victories. The Longhorns posted 1,040 wins over 82 seasons in the Southwestern Conference. In its illustrious history, Texas has claimed 16 conference tournament titles and 81 regular season conference championships.
BASH BROS — With Troy Tulowitzki on staff, the Longhorns have recorded the five highest home run totals in school history. In 2022, Texas smashed the program-record with 128 homers, surpassing the 2010 squad that hit 81 blasts. Texas tallied 112 home runs in 2024, 91 jacks in 2023 and 85 round-trippers in 2025. This year, the Longhorns have launched 81 home runs. Texas has three different players with at least 15 blasts for just the third time in program history, joining the 2022 and 2024 clubs. Team-leader Aiden Robbins has 19 blasts, which matches the fifth-most by a Longhorn in a single season, joining Brooks Kieschnick (1993), Kyle Russell (2008) and Murphy Stehly (2022). Catcher Carson Tinney has homered 17 times, tying for the 11th-most in a campaign. Meanwhile, Casey Borba has socked 15 blasts to round out the Longhorns' double-digit trio.
HISTORY BY WAY OF THE K — For the fourth time in the last six years, Texas' pitching staff has amassed 550 strikeouts. This season, the Longhorns have mounted 19 punchouts in a game on two occasions, accomplishing the feat against Alabama on April 18 and Mississippi Stte on May 1. Texas' 19 strikeouts matched the most in a nine-inning game in program history, tying its performance against Southwestern Louisiana on March 18, 1988. Ruger Riojas is the first Longhorn to reach 100 strikeouts in a campaign since Lucas Gordon (103) in 2023. Riojas sits second in strikeouts in the SEC, while tying for the 15th-most in the country. Meanwhile, Dylan Volantis is fifth in the conference, standing six strikeouts shy of reaching the century mark. Riojas and Volantis are aiming to become the first Texas duo with 100 strikeouts in a single season since Cole Green (104) and Taylor Jungmann (126) in 2011.
SENIOR SENDOFF — As part of Texas' final series, the Longhorns will honor their senior class with a pregame ceremony on Saturday. Texas will recognize nine players and one student-manager. The Longhorns are set to celebrate Temo Becerra, Jayden Duplantier, Max Grubbs, Cal Higgins, Dariyan Pendergrass, Josh Livingston, Connor McCreery, Ruger Riojas and Ethan Walker, as well as manager Estevan Flores. Throughout their time on The Forty Acres, Texas has mounted a 159-72 (.688) record, highlighted a pair of conference championships and one trip to the College World Series.
traDISCHion UNLIKE ANY OTHER — The Longhorns will honor their history throughout the 2026 season, as part of the Saturday traDISCHion series at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. For the fifth consecutive campaign, Texas is celebrating past greats on select Saturdays. The Longhorns saluted J. Brent Cox on March 14, recognized Adrian Alaniz on March 28, honored Chance Ruffin on April 18 and celebrated Taylor Teagarden on May 2. The final traDISCHion will feature Dustin Majewski on May 16.
