Longhorns set to face No. 11 overall seed Oregon in 14th Super Regional appearance in program history
AUSTIN, Texas — Aiden Robbins delivered a go-ahead two-run homer to lift No. 1 seed Texas over No. 2 seed UC Santa Barbara, 6-4, as the Longhorns won the 2026 NCAA Austin Regional at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Sunday night.
With the victory, Texas (43-13) advanced to the Super Regionals for the 14th time in program history. The Longhorns will face No. 11 national seed Oregon, which swept its way through the Eugene Regional.
In the seventh, Robbins stepped to the plate with Texas trailing the Gauchos (40-20) by a run.
After watching four pitches, the junior flipped the contest with a 406-foot shot into the Built Ford Tough Tailgate in right-center field. Robbins' fourth home run of the regional and 23rd blast of the season vaulted the Longhorns in front, 4-3.
One inning later, Ethan Mendoza mounted an RBI double and came around to score to provide a three-run cushion.
UC Santa Barbara answered in the bottom of the eighth and loaded the bases in the final frame, but Luke Harrison (1) secured the 27th out to cap off the regional.
Harrison, who threw 50 pitches in a start against fourth-seeded Holy Cross on Friday, registered his first save since his freshman campaign against LSU on March 5, 2022.
Thomas Burns (1-0) earned the win in relief, retiring all five batters he faced. Burns recorded three strikeouts.
Texas scored all six of its runs across the final four innings, grabbing its first lead of the day in the sixth.
Adrian Rodriguez mounted a game-tying sacrifice fly before Mendoza followed with a go-ahead run-scoring knock to help the Longhorns overcome their first deficit of the NCAA Tournament.
Throughout the regional, Texas outscored its opponents, 41-7. As a club, the Longhorns slashed .376/.493/.761 with 12 home runs.
On the mound, Texas posted a 2.00 ERA in its three-game sweep.
Five Longhorns earned All-Tournament Team distinction, with Robbins garnering Most Outstanding Player honors. He totaled a .429 average with four homers, nine RBI and a 1.815 OPS.
Robbins was recognized alongside Rodriguez, Carson Tinney, Anthony Pack Jr. and Dylan Volantis.
