Senior Tommy Morrison earns spot on league’s Community Service Team for second-straight year.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas senior Tommy Morrison was named to the SEC Men's Golf Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday. This marked the second straight year that Morrison has claimed a spot on the conference's Community Service Team.
Morrison served for the past three years as a member of the Texas Cowboys, an honorary student service organization at The University of Texas. The organization was founded in 1922 with the purpose of serving The University of Texas and maintaining Smokey the Cannon, and members serve as ambassadors for the University while attending numerous significant university-sponsored events.
In addition, Morrison has worked with the First Tee - Greater Austin, a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, the organization creates active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. Morrison also made numerous visits to Dell Medical Children's Hospital to spend time with ailing patients and their families.
