Men’s Golf’s Comegys, Morrison named 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

Matt Comegys and Tommy Morrison honored for their success on the course and in the classroom.
NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas Men's Golf athletes Matt Comegys and Tommy Morrison have been named 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Monday. Comegys and Morrison were recognized for their success both on the course and in the classroom.
This marks the second career Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar accolade for both Comegys and Morrison. Comegys previously earned the honor in 2023-24 following his sophomore season at Texas Tech, while Morrison claimed the award in 2024-25 after his junior year.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50-percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their respective college or university.
Comegys was the 2026 SEC Newcomer of the Year and the only player to compete in all 14 stroke-play events for the Longhorns last season. He registered a 71.00 stroke average in 43 rounds last year, highlighted by a career-best tie for second at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational with a 5-under 205 (69-69-68) and a tie for third at The Ford Collegiate with an 11-under 199 (64-67-68).
Morrison, who completed his collegiate eligibility in 2025-26, garnered third-team All-America accolades last year by PING/GCAA and Golfweek and earned membership on the Korn Ferry Tour by virtue of his No. 6 finish in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026 ranking. A second-team All-SEC selection and member of the SEC Community Service Team, he played in 13 of the team's 14 events last season and posted a 69.85 stroke average while recording five top-eight individual finishes. Morrison was UT's top individual finisher at the 2026 NCAA Championship, when he tied for 10th at 7-under 281 (69-71-70-71).
