· Led the Longhorns with a .400 batting average in Big 12 action and logged 17 runs, 28 hits, seven doubles, one home run and 16 RBI.

· Earned four letters as a third baseman, catcher and pitcher for head coach Chuck Foster at Boerne (Texas) High School.
· Holds Boerne High School career records for home runs (29), doubles (24), singles (105), runs (139) and RBI (133).
· Tabbed a 2006 first-team All-American by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association.
· Selected to the 2006 EA Sports All-America high school baseball team.
· Batted .510 with eight home runs and 27 RBI as a senior, earning first-team all-district, first-team All-Area San Antonio Super Team and first-team all-state as a third baseman.
· Registered a .657 on-base percentage, .850 slugging percentage, 51 hits, 36 runs, 40 walks and just four strikeouts in 36 prep games in 2006.
· Also posted a 9-2 record with one save, 87 strikeouts and just 11 walks as a senior.
· Ranked No. 16 on Texas Baseball News[apos] Top 25 list following the 2005 season.
· Also named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) 4A-5A All-Star team and Senior Sunbelt Classic Team in 2006.
· Batted .444 with eight home runs and 35 RBI as a junior, earning first-team All-Area San Antonio Super Team and second-team all-state as a catcher.
· Registered a .573 on-base percentage, .798 slugging percentage, 44 hits and 36 runs in 34 prep games in 2005.
· Also posted an 8-1 record with two saves, 1.41 ERA, 74 strikeouts and just 12 walks as a junior to earn first-team all-district as a pitcher.
· Led squad to a 27-7 mark and a regional finalist showing in 2005.
· Named to THSCBA Junior Sunbelt Classic team and tabbed to Junior Sunbelt Classic All-Tournament team in 2005.
· Selected for Louisville Slugger High School All-America team as a junior.
· Teamed up with former Longhorn Bradley Suttle to win the 4A state title as a sophomore, as Suttle pitched in the semifinal vs. Port Neches-Groves and Moldenhauer pitched in the title game win over Denton Ryan.
· Picked as MVP of 4A State Championship Game in 2004.
· Batted .500 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI earning first-team all-state as a catcher, co-MVP of Greater San Antonio as sophomore and 4A State Player of the Year.
· Set school single-season records for home runs (13), hits (56), RBI (55) and runs (54).
· Also posted a 13-3 record with a 1.91 ERA, 101 strikeouts and just 26 walks to earn first-team all-district and third-team all-state recognition as a pitcher in 2004.
· Batted .341 with 16 RBI and posted a 4-0 record with one save, 2.29 ERA and 40 strikeouts to earn first-team all-district utility player as a freshman.
· Also earned three letters as a defensive back, linebacker, punter and wide receiver for head coach Tommy Bludau.
· Christened second-team all-district as a wide receiver in 2005 and first-team all-district as a wide receiver and punter in 2004.
· Also named second-team All-Greater San Antonio punter and honorable mention All-Greater San Antonio wide receiver as a junior.
· Tabbed second-team Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State as a senior.
· Named academic all-district four years in baseball and three years in football.
· Member of Lutheran Youth Organization and Young Life.
· Selected as Optimist Student of the Month in February 2006 by the Boerne Optimist Club.

· Drafted in the third round (No. 102 overall) of the 2006 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
