2009-10
Outdoor (Sophomore):
· Placed fifth and posted a PR in the 800m at the Texas Invite with a time of 2:12.53.
· Clocked a career-best 4:34.52 in the 1,500m at the Victor Lopez Bayou Classic, good for second place.
· Ran a 4:37.72 in the 1,500m at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, placing 19th.
Indoor (Sophomore):
· PR[apos]d at the Big 12 Indoors in the 1,000m with a time of 2:53.40 in the prelims.
· Recorded a personal best in the 800m at the Big 12/SEC/C-USA after clocking a 2:13.69 for seventh place.
· Finished second overall in the 800m at the Texas A&M Dual with a time of 2:14.65.
· Ran the 1,000m in 3:00.56 at the Texas A&M Invitational.
2008-09
Outdoor (Freshman):
· Ran a personal-best 800m mark of 2:14.58 for second at the Black & Gold Challenge.
· PR[apos]d in the 1,500m at the Texas Twilight with a time of 4:42.90 for fourth.
· Finished 11th in the 1,5000m at the Texas Relays with a time of 5:00.39 ... also clocked a 2:21.42 in the 800m for 14th.
Cross Country (Freshman):
· Posted season-best finish at the Texas State Invitational where she crossed the finish line in 18:08 for fifth.
· Earned UT[apos]s third-best time at the Texas A&M Invitational clocking in at 18:18 for 14th place overall.
PRIOR TO TEXAS
· Four-year letterwinner in track and cross country at Smithson Valley High School for head coach Louis Belle.
· Holds the Region 4-5A 800m record (2:12), District 26-5A 800m record (2:14) and District 26-5A 1600m record (5:03).
·Was named San Antonio News Express Track and Cross Country Runner of the Year as a senior ... also named a 2008 Cross Country 5A All-Star.
· During senior campaign, won Texas 5A State Championship in 1,600m (4:58) ... won district and regional championships en route to state title ... also won her third Region 4-5A 800m title and district title in same event (2:12).
· Won 800m at Region Championships as a sophomore and junior, also placed third at Texas 5A State Championship in the 800 (2:14.89).
PERSONAL
Born Julie Ann Amthor to James and Gloria on April 17, 1990 in San Antonio, Texas ... posted a 4.0 GPA during her first year at UT and earned the honor of becoming a Dean Scholar ... majoring in honors biology with a pre-med focus ... valedictorian of her Smithson Valley High School class of 550 ... member of Hispanic Health Professions Organization, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Global Medical Training and has experience as a volunteer at North Central Baptist Hospital.
