Earned playing time in 24 contests in 2015, scoring seven runs, four of those during the Texas Classic (February 13-15) ... Raced home as a substitute in the fourth inning of the 11-0 (5 inn.) rout of Oklahoma State (May 1) ... Pinch ran during the seventh inning at Texas Tech (April 25) ... Appeared in all three games as a pinch runner during the Oklahoma series (April 10-11) ... Scored the winning run as a pinch runner in the 6-5 walk-off victory against Texas State (April 4) ... Was hit by a pitch in her lone plate appearance at No. 22 Kansas (March 29) ... Earned playing time at shortstop in Texas Invitational match-ups against Texas Southern (February 27), Lamar (February 28) and Dartmouth (March 1), against Charlotte (March 7) during the Carolina Classic and at Arkansas (March 15) ... BEFORE TEXAS
As a varsity shortstop and outfielder at La Grange High School under head coach Arthur Behrend, Angel posted a career batting average of .499 (250-for-501), while scoring 233 runs, registering 108 extra-base hits, including 22 HR’s, driving in 176 RBIs, swiping a staggering 121 bases over 153 career games and slugging at an .866 clip with a .554 on-base mark for a 1.420 OPS ... During a standout senior campaign that saw La Grange H.S. tally a 40-2 record and win the Texas Class 3A state championship, Angel batted an astounding .578 with 71 runs scored, 42 extra-base hits, including 13 HR’s, 71 RBI, a .636 on-base percentage, a 1.164 slugging mark and 39 stolen bases in 39 attempts ... For her efforts she was tabbed to the 2014 MaxPreps All-American first team, the MaxPreps Medium Schools All-American squad and to the 18-player watch list for the prestigious MaxPreps National Softball Player of the Year award ... She was also selected as the Texas Small School Softball Player of the Year, first team all-state in Class 3A by both the Texas Sports Writers Association (TXSWA) and the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) and the most valuable player in District 26/3A ... As a junior, she batted at a .525 clip (74-for-141) with 68 tallies, 32 extra-base hits and 38 RBIs, while being selected to the 2013 TXSWA Class 3A first team as a shortstop ... She was also chosen as a 2012 TXSWA Class 3A honorable mention choice at shortstop.
