AS A FRESHMAN (2021)
Hit .314 overall with 12 runs scored, two doubles, three HR’s and 12 RBIs over 32 games (15 starts) ... Managed two multi-hit and three multi-RBI efforts ... Slammed a solo HR to right center during the series opener at No. 1 Oklahoma (April 16) ... Posted a 2-for-3 performance with a double in the 8-5 triumph at Iowa State (April 9) ... Hit at a .428 clip (3-for-7) with a HR and five RBIs during the series sweep of New Mexico (March 19-20) ... Blasted a three-run shot for her first collegiate HR to help UT crush Tarleton State, 21-5 (5 inn. - March 13) ... Picked up her first Texas hit during the 9-3 victory over Sam Houston State (Feb. 26) and her first collegiate RBI in a 10-0 (5 inn.) rout of Lamar (Feb. 26).
AS A FRESHMAN AT TEXAS TECH (2020 COVID-19 SHORTENED SEASON)
In her only season at Texas Tech, during the abbreviated 2020 campaign, Cantu appeared in 16 games for the Red Raiders with eight starts at either first base, third base or designated player … Her finest effort of the season came during a 9-5 win over Louisiana Tech (Feb. 8) as Cantu went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a career-high two doubles … She also registered high-profile starts against No. 15 Georgia and No. 1 Washington (career-high three walks), successfully reaching base five times by walk over seven combined plate appearances spanning the two match-ups.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year letter winner, Cantu was a four-time All-District 24-6A First Team choice and three-time all-county selection at Clear Creek High School … She was also a member of the student council while being a part of four different National Honor Societies.

Parents are Carlos and Perla Cantu … Has four siblings, Adrianna, Adriana, Carlos Jr. and Samuel.
