AS A FRESHMAN (2005)
•appeared in 61 games, including 58 starts at shortstop
•second on the team in batting .285 (45-for-158)
•posted team-best totals in: runs (27), walks (33), doubles (10), home runs (5), total bases (70), slugging percentage (.443) and on-base percentage (.411)
•set the Texas single-season walks record, besting the previous mark of 28 (Jodi Reeves, 1998)
•batted a team-best .400 (10-for-25), scored three runs and drew three walks in the team's nine-game NCAA Tournament run
•owned the team's season-best seven-game hitting streak, which ran from the beginning of NCAA Regional play through the second game of the Women's College World Series
•collected nine multiple-hit games (eight two-hit games and one three-hit contest)
•led the team with five multiple-RBI games, adding three game-winning RBI
•ranked second on the team in stolen bases, going 13-for-14 on the season
•was one of five players injured when the team's bench collapsed in the dugout on March 25 in a rain delay ... missed one game with an ankle injury
•went a career best 3-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in another, against Bethune-Cookman (May 28) in the NCAA Austin Super Regional as she hit .571 (4-for-7) in the two-game set
INTERNATIONALLY
Member of the 2003 U.S. Junior National Team that won the silver medal at the 2003 Junior World Championships in Nanjing, China ... played in all 10 games of the tournament, making eight starts (designated player and first base) ... fourth in team batting with a .435 average (10-for-23) ... scored eight runs and drove in seven ... hit three home runs in the tournament and had a .870 slugging percentage ... also had a perfect fielding percentage in 29 chances.
NATIONALLY
Member of the California Cruisers (based out of Orange County, Calif.) under head coach Dean Lappin placing second in 2004 at 18-Gold Nationals ... a 2002 ASA All-American ... helped lead the Arizona Alleycats to the 2001 Under 18 National Championship and the following year helped P.V. Premier to a fifth-place finish at the ASA Gold Nationals in 2002.
BEFORE TEXAS
2004 State of Arizona Gatorade Softball Player of the Year award as a senior at Flowing Wells High School for head coach Armando Quiroz ... 2004 Arizona 5A Southern Region Athlete of the Year ... first-team all-state as both junior and a senior ... led Flowing Wells to the 2004 state regional title and to the 2002 Arizona 5A state championship ... a four-time all-region: first team selection as a junior and senior, second team as a sophomore and honorable mention as a freshman ... 2002 Arizona 5A Co-Player of the Year as a sophomore ... as senior, batted .521 with an on-base percentage of .746 with seven home runs ... also made her mark in the pitching circle with a 0.41 earned run average ... also a four-year member of the Flowing Wells girls basketball team and was a two-time first-team all-state selection in the sport ... led FWHS in rebounding all four years and was the leading scorer as a junior and senior ... was also a member of the volleyball team as a freshman and sophomore ... an honor roll student and won the Dr. Vogt Scholar-Athlete Award.
