AS A SENIOR (2015)
Finished her final campaign with a 10-3 mark from the circle, a 2.54 ERA and 89 K’s over 80.0 frames while appearing in 20 games (11 starts) ... Registered a career-long 21.1-inning shutout streak from the fifth frame of a win over Texas Southern (February 27) to the first inning of the 11-2 rout of Arkansas (March 15) ... Won a career-best nine-consecutive pitching decisions from April 11, 2014, to March 16, 2015 ... Earned a complete-game victory during the opening contest of the NCAA Los Angeles Regional against San Diego State (May 15), helping her own cause at the plate with a bases-clearing, three-RBI double in the first inning that proved the game-winning hit ... Broke out at the plate on her “Senior Weekend” with a terrific performance during the 5-3 & 5-0 wins over Baylor (May 9-10) with three combined hits, including home runs in consecutive games, four RBIs, three runs scored and a double ... Hurled a complete-game victory in game two of the doubleheader against Iowa State (April 18) in which she compiled 10 strikeouts, zero walks and allowed only two earned runs ... Smith also drew a crucial lead-off walk and scored during a decisive seventh-inning rally, tying the Razorbacks in a series opener (March 14) that Texas would go on to win, 8-7 (9 inn.) ... Earned a victory over Ohio (March 6) at the Carolina Classic, starting and allowing just two hits over 4.0 innings of work with six strikeouts ... Posted a 2-0 mark during the Texas Invitational with a 0.54 ERA and 15 K’s in 13 innings, including a two-hit, complete-game shutout in a 4-0 blanking of Texas Southern (March 1) ... Went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the 8-7 loss to Fresno State (February 20) and earned her second career save by allowing two earned runs on five hits with a pair of K’s over 3.0 innings during the 5-3 win over No. 12 UCLA (February 19) at the Mary Nutter Classic ... AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Played in 42 games, including 33 starts … appeared in the circle 30 times, earning the start in 16 of those contests … went 14-4 with a 2.80 ERA …. tossed nine complete games, three of which were shutouts … threw a complete game and picked up the win in an NCAA Regional elimination game against Mississippi State (May 17) … hit a team-best .588 (10-for-17) during Big 12 Conference play … posted a 2-1 record in the circle in league contests … named to 2014 Big 12 All-Academic Second Team … tied for team-high with five hits during Kansas series (May 2-May 4), including two multi-hit performances … threw third complete-game shutout of the season against Oklahoma State (April 27) … struck out the final batter with the bases loaded at North Texas (March 11) to clinch a 2-1 complete game victory and a doubleheader sweep … won six consecutive starts from Feb. 15-March 2 … threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout against Fresno State (Feb. 22) … named the Opening Day starter and picked up the win at LSU (Feb. 6).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
The team’s primary right-field option down the stretch after working hard in the offseason to improve hitting ... played in a career-high 58 games with a personal-best 38 starts, 33 in right field and five at pitcher ... team went 29-4 during right-field starts (.879 winning percentage) ... appeared in the pitching circle eight times, going 2-0 with a 2.78 earned-run average and one save ... tossed first career solo shutout, against Memphis (Feb. 9) ... offensively during the year, registered career highs in hits (26), runs batted in (nine), slugging percentage (.305) and walks (three) ... hit .310 (18-for-58) during the first 31 games of the campaign ... recorded a personal-best four multiple-hit contests ... added one three-RBI contest, against Utah State (Feb. 23) ... collected two hits, a run scored and RBI against No. 18/15 Baylor (March 24). Two hits were a career high for a Big 12 game ... earned first career save against N.C. State (March 16), entering for the final inning and striking out three ... led Texas during Citrus Classic (March 1-3) with a .462 (six-for-13) batting average ... drove in the game-winning run against No. 24/24 Tulsa (Feb. 24) with a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
Played in 46 games in the field while making 11 starts … led all UT players with 35 appearances as a substitute … Longhorns won all six games started at designated player … also experienced action in the pitching circle, garnering five starts and eight appearances … squad won all five games started … posted the lowest earned run average of any UT pitcher with a 2.15 mark … totaled 18 hits allowed and 27 strikeouts in 26 innings … recorded a pinch-hit RBI single against No. 12 Oregon (May 26) in the NCAA Austin Super Regional … had a career day on March 15 against Marist at the Spring Fling tournament in Honolulu, clubbing first collegiate home run in a two-for-three performance with two runs batted in … versus the Red Foxes, threw first complete game, allowing two runs on three hits with four walks and career-high 11 strikeouts … threw six scoreless innings in start against Cal State Northridge (Feb. 23), allowing only one hit with four walks and 10 strikeouts … opened the season by throwing 15-and-a-third scoreless innings over four appearances … first collegiate pitching appearance came against Colorado State (Feb. 11), throwing four scoreless innings and giving up two hits with a walk and four strikeouts … made collegiate debut against Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 9), going one-for-four with one RBI and two runs scored.
NATIONALLY
Played for Impact Gold out of Houston under head coach K.C. Jackson … led team to a third-place finish at the 2011 ASA Nationals and a second-place finish in the Colorado Fireworks Tournament.
BEFORE TEXAS
A four-year letterwinner at Bellaire High School in Houston … a 2011 ESPN High School All-America First Team selection as a utility player … two-time Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State selection (2010-11) … 2010-11 all-greater Houston team choice … four-time All-District 20-5A First-Team honoree and led team to four-straight district titles … District 20-5A MVP in 2010 and 2011 … 2008 District 20-5A Newcomer of the Year … in 2011, posted a 28-2 record in the circle with a 0.55 earned run average, while striking out 265 batters in 152 innings … at the plate, hit .592 with 11 doubles, five triples, three home runs, 39 RBIs and 71 runs scored … tossed three no-hitters as a senior, helping Bellaire win a program-best 36 games and advance to the Class 5A-Region III semifinals for the third-straight season.
