Why Texas?
“I wanted to go somewhere very different from Seattle, and I was super impressed by UT's mechanical engineering department and its resources, as well as Texas Rowing's momentum in the last decade.”
What led you to pursue rowing and what do you love most about it?
“I grew up attending my brother's regattas, but I got into a boat for the first time when my middle school PE class spent a week learning about rowing at a local boathouse. I started rowing at Pocock Rowing Center the next fall and switched to coxing after two years. I love the first strokes of a race, when the whole crew must come together and commit to the race ahead.”

- Has three older half-siblings – Shauna, Peter and Trevor
- Her half-sister, Shauna, rowed at Cal and
- Began rowing at 14 and coxing at 16
- Enjoys sewing, usually clothing, as well as walking and running around Seattle and learning world geography
