Why Texas?
"I chose Texas because everything about the program pointed to it being the right fit. The quality of rowing spoke for itself, and the coaching staff were incredibly supportive from the very first conversation — it was clear they genuinely cared about helping athletes develop, not just compete. Even connecting with the team online during recruiting, I could tell how welcoming and close-knit they were, which made me feel like I’d found my place before I’d even set foot on campus. Add to that the world-class facilities, and it felt like the complete package: strong coaching, a great team culture, and the resources to help me grow as both a rower and a student."
What led you to pursue rowing and what do you love most about it?
"I came to rowing from a swimming background and quickly fell in love with the team side of the sport. What I love most is being around like-minded people who share the same drive and love for competing, and having fun while doing it. Rowing is unique in that success really depends on everyone working together — you win and lose as one unit, and that’s what makes it so rewarding."
