On winning the Massingill Trophy: It's a true honor to have my name on the same trophy as all of the past winners. The competition was stiff this year as it always is. I just feel fortunate to win the Massingill.
On his expectations for the season: I think we can win the Big 12 Championship for the fourth straight year. I'm also confident that we will light the tower up for winning NCAA's. This is our year.
On his play so far this year: I got off to a bad start this year in the first two tournaments. However, I think it is a good wake up call for the rest of the year.
On his expectations entering each tournament: I expect to play well enough for our team to win each tournament. If that means going really low, then I will do that.
On the cohesiveness of the team: The team chemistry is very good on our team. It seems like everyone is good friends with each other and roots each person on to play well.
On the travel associated with golf: Traveling can get long sometimes, but having the guys with you helps out a lot and makes it much more fun.
On the coaching staff: Both coach Fields and coach Keasler are great motivators. They are very positive and say the right things when I need to hear it.
On the freshmen: All four freshmen, Jace, Kevin, Michael and Tarik, are very good players. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them play their way into the lineup. Coach did a good job in getting these guys.
