Texas (11-3) would even the score in the second when Kevin Lusson powered a solo home run down the right field line.
The Longhorns tacked on a run in the fourth to take the lead. Kevin Keyes doubled off the left centerfield wall and advanced to third on a Paul Montalbano groundout. Kevin Lusson walked and Cohl Walla singled to score Keyes.
Texas added an insurance run in the fifth to make the score 3-1. Tant Shepherd was hit by a pitch and was followed up with a Brandon Loy walk to put runners on first and second with no outs. Shepherd and Loy advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Cameron Rupp, and Keyes grounded out to shortstop scoring Shepherd.

Coach Augie Garrido
On Cole Green's start: Cole had a much better start today as compared to last week. He has really matured and he really competes and finds a lot of fun in the game. The whole pitching staff is doing that quite honestly.

On his performance: I felt good. Obviously, pitching off Taylor's performance last night it is hard to go out there and continue what he did because he did so well. But I wanted to go out there and pitch my game. I got a lot of ground balls and got a couple of strikeouts when I needed, too. And we got some offense obviously and that was huge. I think I was able to keep the ball down pretty well and throw my breaking ball for a strike and get a lot of ground balls. Now with conference next weekend we are all pretty fired up.
