TEAM NOTES
- Texas ends the regular season with a 7-5 overall record and 4-5 mark in conference play.
- The Texas-Baylor series now stands at 73-24-4 in favor of the Longhorns as this marked the 101st all-time meeting between the two schools. In Waco, Texas is 29-15-2. Mack Brown is now 12-2 against the Bears.
- Coach Brown is 86-27 all-time in Big 12 games, including a 39-9 record on the road.
- Linebacker Keenan Robinson (No. 1) and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (No. 84) each wore jersey No. 2 to honor injured teammate Fozzy Whittaker. It is the second straight week Whittaker has been honored after his season came to an end at Missouri. Last week safety Kenny Vaccaro donned his jersey number.
- This marked the fourth game this season Texas has recorded over 500 yards of total offense and the sixth time in 12 games they have rushed for at least 200 yards. It is the third time they have gone over 200 yards both rushing and passing.
- The last time Texas was in a game where both teams recorded over 500 yards of total offense was 2009 at Texas A&M. It was the first time this season Texas gave up over 500 yards. The most they had previously allowed was 453 yards against Oklahoma.
- UT had a commanding lead in time of possession 38:30-21:30 for the game.
- Texas racked up 339 yards of total offense in the first half with 232 passing and 107 rushing. It was the most yards for the Longhorns in a single half in 2011 and the fourth time they tallied 300 or more yards in a half (308 in 2nd half vs. Rice, 316 in 1st half vs. Kansas and 309 in 1st half vs. Texas Tech).
- The Longhorns converted 8-of-11 third down conversions in the first half while holding Baylor to 0-for-4 on third down. Texas also controlled time of possession in the first half 21:02-8:58.
- Texas recorded its first two plays of 75 or more yards this season and had three total plays of 50 or more yards in the game. The Longhorns had passes of 80 and 78 yards and one rush for 51 yards to give them six total plays of 50 or more yards on the year.
- It was a game of runs as Baylor jumped out ahead 14-0 in the first quarter, the Longhorns answered with 21 straight points before the Bears rattled off 27 consecutive points.
- Two Texas players recorded over 100 receiving yards for the first time since 2008 when Quan Cosby (122) and Jordan Shipley (112) each topped the 100-yard mark against Oklahoma.
- Baylor had three touchdowns of 20 or more yards. The 59-yard touchdown pass for Baylor on the opening drive was the first touchdown pass over 20 yards allowed by the Texas defense this season. The Longhorns have only given up seven touchdowns of 20 or more yards on the year.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Blake Gideon
- Gideon started in his 51st consecutive game, moving into a tie with Justin Blalock for second most in school history. He is one of only three players in Texas history with 50 or more consecutive starts.
- He intercepted a pass in the end zone in the second quarter for his 10th career interception and second of the season.
Marquise Goodwin
- Goodwin recorded his first career 100-yard receiving game with 129 yards and a touchdown on five receptions.
- He caught an 80-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for his first touchdown of the season and third of his career. It was the longest passing touchdown for Texas since Colt McCoy connected with Jordan Shipley for 88 yards against Central Florida in 2009.
Jeremy Hills
- Hills rushed 11 times for 52 yards and had a season-long run of 20 yards on 3rd-and-15 to extend a Texas drive that resulted in a touchdown pass in the first quarter.
Blaine Irby
- Irby recorded a touchdown catch for the third straight game, making a one-handed grab in the back of the end zone for a two-yard touchdown catch. He now has three touchdown receptions this season and five in his career.
Jackson Jeffcoat
- Jeffcoat tallied his sixth sack of the season and now has 8.5 career sacks in his first two years. He has 18 tackles for loss for the year.
Case McCoy
- McCoy threw for a career-high 356 yards on 24-of-39 passing and had a career-high three touchdown passes to give him seven TD tosses on the season. His previous high for yards was 168 at UCLA while his high for touchdowns was two against the Bruins. The 356 yards are the most for a Texas quarterback since his brother, Colt McCoy passed for 396 yards against Kansas in 2009.
- McCoy completed a career-long 80-yard touchdown pass to Goodwin in the second quarter, one of two passes of over 75 yards in the game for McCoy. He also had a 78-yard pass to Jaxon Shipley in the second quarter to set up a touchdown pass. His previous long prior to this game was 49 yards at Iowa State earlier this year.
- He had his streak of consecutive pass attempts without an interception stopped at 124 when he threw his first career interception in the second quarter. His streak was the longest in school history to start a career and ranked as the third most overall in school history.
D.J. Monroe
- Monroe had eight carries for a career-high 77 yards, including a season-long 51-yard carry in the third quarter. It was his second career rush of 50 or more yards as he had a 60-yard run against Oklahoma last season. His previous single game high for rushing yards was 65 against Oklahoma in 2010.
Luke Poehlmann
- Poehlmann, an offensive tackle, was in the game as a tight end and caught a three-yard touchdown pass from McCoy for his first career touchdown and first career reception.
Jaxon Shipley
- Shipley caught four passes for 121 yards for his second career 100-yard game. It is the 14th 100-yard receiving game by a freshman in school history. He ties the school record for 100-yard games by a freshman along with Roy Williams, B.J. Johnson and Mike Davis.
- He became just the third freshman in school history with 500 or more receiving yards in a season. He ranks third on the list with 593 yards and is also tied for third with 40 receptions.
- He hauled in a season-long 78-yard reception in the second quarter. It was the fifth longest catch by a freshman in Texas history. Shipley has 10 catches of 20 or more yards and three of 40 or more this year.
Justin Tucker
- Tucker made a 39-yard field goal in the third quarter and was 1-of-2 in the game. On the year he is 17-of-20 (.850) and for his career he is 40-of-47 (.851).
Attendance: 46,543 - largest crowd in Waco since 2006 against Texas A&M
