Tournament Notes:
- Kent State will play in a winner's bracket game on Sunday at 6:30 pm Central against the Texas/Texas State winner. Texas will be the home team against Texas State.
- Texas will play in an elimination game on Saturday at 1 pm Central against Texas State.
- The official attendance for the regional's fourth session was 6,268.

Team Notes:
- Texas' win moved its all-time mark in NCAA Regional play to 131-51-1 (52nd NCAA Regional appearance)
- The Horns own a 75-22 mark all-time in NCAA Regional play at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Individual Notes:
- Taylor Jungmann's loss to Kent State marked his first of 2011, snapping a streak in which he had won 15 straight decisions dating back to May 27, 2010 against Texas Tech. He also suffered his first career home loss, ending his 17-0 streak. The loss also ended Texas' run of 25 consecutive home victories with Jungmann as the starter.
- Jungmann allowed seven runs in 5.2 innings of work, which stands as the most runs he has surrendered in 2011.
- Kevin Lusson's pinch-hit home run in the ninth was his first roundtripper of the season and the first pinch-hit homer of his career. The long-ball was Texas' first pinch-hit home run of 2011.

Team Notes:
- Kent State's win moved its all-time mark in NCAA Regional play to 9-12 (12th NCAA Regional appearance).
- The Golden Flashes advance to the NCAA Regional finals for the second time in program history (2001).
Individual Notes:
- Andrew Chafin's eight-strikeout effort pushed his season strikeout total to 105 and moved him into third place in the Kent State single-season record books.
- David Lyon's grand slam in the sixth inning was his first of the season and the second of his career. The home run was his ninth of 2011 and pushed his season RBI total to 53.
- Ben Klafczynski's three-hit performance was his team-best 27th multi-hit game of the season and his ninth with three hits. His two doubles against the Horns marked his second two-double game of 2011.
- Kyle McMillen's save was his Kent State single-season record 18th of 2011 and 22nd of his career. He is now tied with Gus Hlebovy (2001-03) for third-place on the KSU career charts.
