TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Texas Women's Golf team shot a season-low 54-hole score of even-par 864 (286-289-289) to finish in seventh place at the 17-team PING/ASU Karsten Golf Course Sunday afternoon in its regular-season finale. Senior Desiree Dubreuil (70-68-73) finished as the Longhorns' low player at 5-under 211 and tied for fifth place.
Texas began the tournament with a season-low 286 on Friday and recorded back-to-back 289s for its lowest three-round total since the 2009 Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin.
Dubreuil has led the Longhorns on the individual leaderboard in three of their last four tournaments, and now has three Top 10 finishes in her senior campaign. Her tie for fifth matches her season-best at last month's Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
Senior Katelyn Sepmoree carded an even-par 72 to finish tied for 17th at 1-under 215 (71-72-72). Sophomore Bertine Strauss led the Longhorns with a final-round 2-under 70 to finish at 219 (75-74-70) and tied for 31st. Senior Madison Pressel (70-75-78=223) and freshman Natalie Karcher (75-77-74=226) rounded out the Texas squad in ties for 48th and 58th, respectively.
Alabama (284-284-277=845) topped runner-up Duke (280-283-291-854) by nine strokes for the team crown. The Tide's Emma Talley took home medalist honors at 9-under 207 (68-69-70).
Texas begins postseason action Friday, April 19 at the Big 12 Championship in Rhodes, Iowa.
