Four Longhorns advance past second stage of PGA web.com Tour Q-School

Former Texas players Cody Gribble, Brad Elder, Russell Surber and Toni Hakula are making names for themselves on the PGA web.com Tour.
AUSTIN, Texas – Former Texas players Cody Gribble, Brad Elder, Russell Surber and Toni Hakula have advanced past the second stage of the PGA web.com Tour School.
Gribble and Elder, both competing in McKinney, Texas, finished in second tied for ninth, respectively.
Hakula, competing in Brooksville, Fla., finished in a tie for 18th, while Surber tied for 13th in Houston, Texas.
"I'm always thrilled with our former players' success in golf, in business and with their families," Head Coach John Fields said. "To see four of our alumni get through the final stage of the PGA web.com Tour School is exhilarating."
The four players will advance to the final stage on Thursday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 14 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
In the third and final stage, players are awarded a web.com tour card. Each PGA Tour event takes the lowest 156 numbers.
"Our program is special and the players make it that way," Fields said. "Pearl and I are super happy for Brad, Cody, Russell and Toni."
