Longhorns Jhonattan and Julio Vegas to compete in World Cup of Golf

Texas alums Jhonattan Vegas (2004-07 and Julio Vegas (2008-13) will represent Venezuela.

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Golf alums Jhonattan and Julio Vegas will team together to represent Venezuela at the World Cup of Golf at Kingston Heath Golf Club from Thursday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 27 in Melbourne, Australia.

The Vegas brothers are two of 56 players from 28 countries playing in the World Golf Championship event with an 8-million dollar purse.

Julio will join his brother after playing the PGA Tour Latin America series since turning pro in 2013. He has two top-25 finishes.

Jhonattan is currently ranked No. 64 in the world and will play his second Masters in April of 2017 after winning the Canadian Open.
