Junior George Goldhoff posts his second win over a top-40 opponent in the last month.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas junior George Goldhoff defeated a top-40 opponent, and UT added two additional singles wins, but No. 21 Arkansas (15-4) outlasted the 19th-ranked Longhorns (11-6) and prevailed by a 4-3 count Wednesday evening at Westwood Country Club.
Texas started off with a win at third doubles, where freshman Harrison Scott and sophomore John Mee knocked off Santiago Munoz and Johan den Toom by a 6-2 count. The Razorbacks, however, claimed the remaining courts at second and first doubles to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
The Longhorns evened the match at one behind sophomore Adrian Ortiz's 6-1, 6-0 win over Munoz at third singles. Texas reclaimed the lead at 2-1 by way of senior Michael Riechmann's 7-6 (6), 6-4 win over Adam Sanjurjo at fifth singles.
The Razorbacks answered at fourth singles with a straight-sets win and took a 3-2 lead behind Jose Salazar's three-set win over UT's Scott at second singles.
Goldhoff recorded his second top-40 win in less than a month, as he knocked off Arkansas' 32nd-ranked Mike Redlicki, 6-2, 7-6 (6) at first singles to even the match at three.

POST-MATCH COMMENTS
Texas head coach Michael Center
It was a great college match. Arkansas is a really good team. It comes down to the execution in some critical moments. We lost a tough doubles point again today. We fought back, but we just came up a little bit short. We've been in several of these matches where we've come out on top and this one we came up a little bit short, but I give Arkansas credit.
I just told the guys that we're in the stretch of the season where we're going to be in a lot of these matches. We've just got to keep playing and keep going. So, my hat's off to Arkansas, but we'll be excited and ready to play again on Saturday against Tulsa.
