LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 3 Texas Volleyball (15-2, 7-0) earned its 11th sweep of the season with its victory over Texas Tech (13-7, 2-5) on Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena.

Sophomore Micaya White led Texas in kills with 15, only committing one error for a .424 efficiency, while seniors Chiaka Ogbogu and Ebony Nwanebu chipped in 11.
Ogbogu did not commit an error on 13 swings for a career-high .846 hitting efficiency, while Nwanebu had one error on 23 swings to hit .435.
Ogbogu also led the Longhorns in blocks for the 13th time this season with six, once again leading Texas to outblock its opponent, 8.0 to 3.0.
Senior Cat McCoy led with 15 digs, while freshman Ashley Shook finished with 38 assists and nine digs.
Texas posted its eighth match hitting .350 or better at .375, limiting Texas Tech to a .152 mark.
The Red Raiders jumped out to an early 5-2 lead in the first set, but the Longhorns quickly closed the gap and took its first lead on a 5–1 run. The teams traded points until an Ogbogu kill set off a 3-0 run to give Texas a 13-10 lead. Texas Tech bounced back, inching closer to regain a 19-18 lead and stretching it to 24-20. The Horns clawed back, saving four set points to tie the score at 24 and another one at 24-25. Two McCoy serves gave Texas back-to-back points and closed set one, 27-25.
It was all Longhorns in the second set as they jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and didn't look back. They only allowed 12 Red Raider points in the set, hitting .485 and limiting TTU to a .049 efficiency to take set two, 25-12.
Texas Tech attacked early in set three with an early 6-0 advantage and maintained it until Texas tied the score at 10. Neither team led by more than two until kills from Shook and Johnson gave UT a 19-16 edge and from there, Texas closed on the set, 25-18, to win the match.
Texas will conclude the first half of the Big 12 season in Norman, Okla., taking on Oklahoma on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
