Soccer wraps its spring season on Friday against St. Edward’s

Texas’ final spring contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CT kick-off at Mike A. Myers Stadium
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas soccer program will conclude its 2017 spring campaign on Fri., April 21, by welcoming St. Edward's to Mike A. Myers Stadium for a 7 p.m. CT match-up.
Admission to home spring soccer events is free and fans are encouraged to park in Manor Garage where normal parking rates will apply.
The Burnt Orange & White remains unbeaten during its 2017 spring season, managing a perfect 3-0 record with victories over Monterrey Tech, Houston and UTSA while out-scoring its trio of opponents by a combined score of 12-0.
Last time out on March 31, the Longhorns ventured down I-35 to San Antonio and rolled past UTSA, 4-0. A brace (two goals) from freshman forward Tecora Turner and single goals from sophomore midfielders Katie Glenn and Nakia Graham did the scoreboard damage.
Glenn leads all Texas scorers this spring with an impressive five goals, while Turner and sophomore midfielder Kayra Dollas are tied for second with two goals each. Graham, reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year Cyera Hintzen and rookie defender Emily Martin have all scored once.
For the upcoming 2017 fall season, the Longhorns are expected to return 19 letter winners that combined to register 21-of-25 total goals (84 percent), 14-of-21 total assists (67 percent) and 56-of-77 total points (73 percent) from last year's 8-9-1 squad. Included among the returnees are forward Alexa Adams (five goals, two assists, 12 points in 2016), forward Mikayla Flores (three goals, four assists, 10 points in 2015 – injured for virtually all of 2016), forward Hintzen (two goals, four points in 2016), forward Olivia Brook (three goals, six points in 2016) and Glenn (three goals, one assist, seven points in 2016).
