ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The No. 11 Texas women's golf team concluded the opening day of the Dick McGuire Invitational in 12th place with a 36-hole total of 587 (295-292, +11) on Monday at the Championship Course at UNM.

The final 18 holes of the Dick McGuire Invitational, the season-opening event for the Longhorns, will be played on Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.

Freshman Kaitlyn Papp (70-76) and sophomore Greta Isabella Voelker (75-71) led the way for the Longhorns on Monday, each carding two-over-par totals of 146. For Papp, an Austin, Texas, native, it was her first collegiate competition and she concluded the first 18 holes with a bogey-free two-under-par 70.

Sophomore Emilee Hoffman totaled a three-over par 147 (75-72), while sophomore Maren Cipolla posted a five-over-par 149 (76-73). Junior Maddie Luitwieler recorded a seven-over-par 151 (75-76).

No. 24 Oklahoma State leads the tournament field after the opening two rounds with a one-under-par 575 (291-284), while No. 14 Arizona is in second place with an even-par 576 (292-284). The Wildcats' Bianca Pagdanganan leads the individual field with a 10-under-par 134 (67-67).

"This is a great course. It's challenging and you have to play the ball well. I am really happy with how I played this morning, playing bogey free for my first collegiate round. I've never played 36 holes in a day without some sort of break, so that was a new learning experience for me. Now it's time to rest up and be ready tomorrow."
