Notes:
• No. 5 Texas has started Big 12 play 2-0 after victories over West Virginia in Morgantown and at home against Baylor. In the conference home opener against Baylor, sophomore Micaya White and freshman Lexi Sun led Texas with 11 kills apiece. Freshman Ashley Shook posted her third-consecutive double-double and a sixth on the season, with team-highs of 31 assists and 15 digs. Junior Morgan Johnson led Texas defensively with five blocks and a team-high .417 hitting percentage on seven kills. Shook, as well as seniors Ebony Nwanebu and Chiaka Ogbogu all contributed three blocks.
• Through two conference matches, the Longhorns rank first (in conference matches only) in opponent hitting percentage (.226), service aces (1.12/set), and blocks (2.88/set). White ranks fourth in service aces (0.38/set), while Johnson continues to occupy the top spot in blocks (1.88/set).
• Looking for a second win in Big 12 Conference play, Kansas State (1-1) is facing a second-consecutive match versus a ranked team after a five-set loss to No. 11 Kansas. Ahead of facing a Texas offense third in the Big 12 for hitting percentage (.286) and fifth for kill/set (13.88), the Wildcats' 64 kills kept pace with 68 from Kansas (No. 3 NCAA 14.83 kills/set, Sept. 26).
• Kansas State middle blocker Peyton Williams will match up against UT's Chiaka Ogbogu at the net. Both lead their team in both blocks and hitting percentage, and are ranked second and third in hitting percentage in the Big 12, with .429 and .421, respectively. Williams' 1.00 blocks/set is tied for sixth-most in the conference.
• Texas owns a .828 winning percentage (247-51) in Big 12 Conference play over the last 10 seasons, with winning streaks opening conference play over the last five seasons averaging 11 matches.
• Texas' four Preseason All-Big 12 selections, seniors Chiaka Ogbogu and Ebony Nwanebu, sophomore Micaya White, and freshman Lexi Sun, were all major contributors heading into the Longhorns' conference home-opener. Ogbogu leads Texas in blocks (61, 1.56/set). Sun and White lead Texas in kills (132, 3.47/set & 120, 3.24/set), with both recording over 70 digs.
• Preseason Freshman of the Year Lexi Sun, on a team-leading 132 kills (3.47/set), holds the tenth-highest number of kills per set in Texas history as a freshman. Sun was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week for two-straight weeks on September 4th and 11th.
