AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas (6-3, 4-2) fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers (6-1, 4-1), 42-41, after WVU connected on a 33-yard touchdown pass and successful two-point conversion with 16 seconds remaining at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

- The Mountaineers opened up the game with an 11-play drive that ended with a field goal.
- After trading punts, Texas drove 53 yards for a touchdown and a 7-3 lead.
- West Virginia answered with a 60-yard pass from Will Grier to David Sills V to put WVU on top 10-7.
- A 21-yard pass from Sam Ehlinger to Lil'Jordan Humphrey capped a 3-play, 39-yard drive as Texas regained the lead (14-10).

- After the Mountaineers drove to the Texas 20-yard line, the Longhorn defense stiffened once again and held them on fourth down to close out the third quarter.
- The Longhorns drove 59 yards and Cameron Dicker connected on his third field goal of the day to extend the Texas lead to 34-27 with 9:38 to play.
- The Mountaineers tied up the game at 34-34 with an 11 play, 75-yard drive that was capped off by a 13-yard rush by Pettaway.
- Texas answered with a 48-yard strike from Ehlinger to Devin Duvernay to take a seven-point (41-34) lead with 2:34 to play.
- West Virginia would go 75 yards in 2:18 for a touchdown and converted on the two-point conversation after Grier rushed to the corner of the end zone with 16 seconds to put the Mountaineers up 42-41.
- The next drive for the Longhorns started at their own 41 after the kickoff, but an incompletion and a fumble near midfield on a last second play closed out a West Virginia win.

Texas will head to Lubbock, Texas to face Texas Tech (5-3, 3-2) next Saturday (Nov. 10) at Jones AT&T Stadium. Time and television is still to be decided.
