CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp on Sunday recorded her third top-10 individual finish of the season and No. 2 Texas placed third at the Battle at the Beach, contested at Club Campestre San Jose Golf Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Four Texas individuals placed inside the top-20 for the weekend and, for the Longhorns, it was their fourth top-five team finish in four tournaments this fall. Looking back to the start of the 2017-18 campaign, Texas has charted 13 top-five finishes in 16 events during that span.

TEXAS HEAD COACH RYAN MURPHY
"The good thing about this week is that we played better each day of the event. It was a very good effort from the team today. We did not fire on all cylinders at the start and just did not get it going this week, but that happens in golf. Hats off to Auburn – they played terrific."
"Overall, I thought this fall was very strong. We competed with three different lineups and we were competitive with each one. I was able to see many, many things that we do well. I also watched some little things that will need to be ironed out in the off-season if we want to maximize our abilities."
"Individually, we had several nice showings this fall. Pappy [Kaitlyn Papp] played well again here in Cabo and just continues to collect top-10s. Her consistently good play is fun to watch. The same thing goes for Hailee [Cooper]. It was a terrific fall for her first semester at Texas – 1st, 5th, 12th and 18th in her four appearances. Heady stuff for a freshman."
"We have lots of talent on our team at the moment. Agathe [Laisne] and Greta [Isabella Voelker] both had solid finishes for the second tournament in a row. I'm proud of both of them. There is a next level for both Agathe and Greta and I believe we will see it this spring."
"Maddie [Luitwieler] had two very good rounds here in Cabo. Producing those rounds on a consistent basis will be a key for her. And although Emilee [Hoffman] struggled this week, she had some nice moments this fall. Everyone experiences ebs and flows in our game. The key is to keep learning, keep working hard and keep inching forward. I expect Maddie and Emilee to do just that this off-season and also this coming spring."
