Papp continues strong play for Women's Golf at Northrop Grumman Intercollegiate

As a team, Texas moved up one spot to finish the second round of the 54-hole event in 10th place overall.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – Freshman Texas golfer Kaitlyn Papp recorded an even-par 71 on Monday to continue her strong play leading the No. 7 Longhorns at the Northrop Grumman Intercollegiate, played at Palos Verdes Country Club in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
As a team, Texas moved up one spot to finish the second round of the 54-hole event in 10th place overall with a two-round total of 594 (298-296). The final 18 holes begin at 10:30 a.m. CT Tuesday with a shotgun start.
Following her opening-round 69 on Sunday, Papp followed up with a 71 on her second 18 holes. She currently stands in a tie for second-place overall with a two-under-par 140 (69-71). Arizona State's Olivia Mehaffey holds a one-stroke lead with a three-under-par 139 (68-71).
Fellow freshman Agathe Laisne is in a tie for 42nd place overall with an eight-over-par 150 (75-75), while sophomore Greta Isabella Voelker is tied for 61st with a 12-over-par 154 (78-76).
Junior Maddie Luitwieler fired a second-round 74 and is in a tie for 64th place with a 13-over-par 155 (81-74). Sophomore Emilee Hoffman is tied for 76th place with a 15-over-par 157 (76-81).
