NOTES
- Texas opened its Big 12 Conference season with a five-set win over Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. last week. The Horns had a bye over the weekend and will return to Big 12 action with four of the next six matches on the road.
- The Longhorns rank in the top-40 in NCAA Division I in two categories: seventh in hitting percentage (.295) and 36th nationally in blocks per set. UT ranks first in the Big 12 in both categories.
- Freshman Brionne Butler ranks second in the Big 12 and 12th in NCAA Division I in hitting percentage (.408), sophomore Ashley Shook ranks third in the Big 12 in assists and 24th nationally.
-Seven Longhorns matched or set new season or career-high marks in the match versus Kansas State:
-Petersen: matched career-high mark with 19 digs, set a new career-high mark with five assists
-White: season-best 21 kills
-Shook: career-high 62 assists, matched season-best five kills and five blocks
-Eggleston: career-high 18 kills, matched career-high with five digs
-Butler: career-high 14 kills, career-high four digs
-Johnson: season-best .667 hitting percentage
-Bedart-Ghani: season-best 10 kills, three digs
-Texas will face the seventh ranked opponent in its first 10 matches of 2018 in No. 21 Baylor. The Bears will be the third ranked opponent at Gregory Gym this season (Stanford, Kentucky).
-Through nine matches, the Longhorns have hit .346 or better in four matches and have outblocked opponents in all six of their wins.
