- The Longhorns will again be without a pair of important starters for both matches this weekend as freshman midfielder Julia Grosso and freshman defender Emma Regan are currently participating in Team Canada's CONCACAF Qualifying Camp. The international duo also missed UT's 2-1 (OT) victory over Baylor on Sept. 21.
- The Burnt Orange & White face a pair of difficult road trips this weekend as UT hasn't won in Stillwater, Okla., since 2002 or Fort Worth, Texas, since 2008. Texas is 3-4-4 all-time on the road against Oklahoma State and trails in the overall series, 11-10-6. UT is 3-3 on the road at TCU and leads the overall series between the two teams, 8-4-2.
- Friday's contest at No. 13 Oklahoma State marks the first match-up of top 15 teams involving the Longhorns since Nov. 16, 2008, when then-No. 15 Texas lost in NCAA Tournament Second Round action at No. 3 Portland, 2-0.
- The Longhorns have won their last 13 September matches in a row dating back to a 2-1 (2OT) loss to Oklahoma State on Sept. 30, 2016.
- Texas (1st), Oklahoma State (tied for 2nd) and TCU (tied for 4th) are currently three of the top five teams in the Big 12 in goals. UT leads the way with 26 scores, while Oklahoma State has 25 and TCU has 23. The Longhorns have been slightly better defensively, allowing six goals, while OSU has allowed seven and TCU has allowed 10.
- After going just 2-8 during one-goal matches during the 2016 season, the Longhorns have since turned around their fortunes in such contests by going 16-3 over their last 19 one-goal matches since beginning 2017 and are 5-0 in 2018.
- The Burnt Orange & White are a remarkable 7-2-4 in overtime matches combining the 2017 & 2018 seasons and have gone to at least one extra session in 13 of their last 25 contests.
- Texas has now scored in 10 straight matches to open the season, marking the fifth-longest consecutive match scoring streak to start a year in program history. The 1994 UT squad set the school mark by tallying a goal in each of its first 12 matches, while the 2017, 2000 and 1997 teams tickled the twine in 11 straight to begin the campaign.
- The Longhorns were ranked No. 10 in the second release of the NCAA Division I Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) on Tuesday. Texas ranks first in the Big 12, with OSU at No. 12 and TCU at No. 29, and is one of six total league schools in the RPI Top 30. The Big 12 also ranked first this week in conference RPI.
- Senior forward Alexa Adams has tallied at least one point in five of her last six matches. Sophomore midfielder Haley Berg has now totaled two points each in four of UT's last six contests and senior midfielder Katie Glenn has points in four of the last six contests. In all, Glenn has registered at least one point in six-of-10 matches this season and at least two points in five-of-10.
- The Longhorns have wasted no time this season jumping on their opponents as UT has outscored the opposition during the first halves of matches by a combined total of 14-3. Only Texas State, No. 23 UCF and Baylor have managed to locate the net during the opening 45 minutes of play against Texas this year.
- Texas began the new season at No. 17 in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll released on Aug. 7. The preseason ranking marked the first for the Burnt Orange & White since beginning the 2009 campaign at No. 15. On the strength of its unbeaten 9-0-1 start, UT has now climbed as high as No. 6 in both the Top Drawer Soccer and Soccer America polls (highest ranking in any poll for Texas since a No. 4 nod in Soccer America back on Sept. 9, 2008) and is No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches listing. Texas has now appeared in each of the last 17 United Soccer Coaches poll releases dating back to Sept. 12, 2017.
- With her seventh-minute goal against Northern Colorado (Sept. 16), junior forward Cyera Hintzen registered her ninth career match-winning score. The Garland, Texas, native now owns nine match-winners over her 20 career goals, meaning that 45% of the time she's scored, it has been to win a contest.
- Texas has scored first in eight of its 10 matches during the 2018 campaign, and the Longhorns have trailed for only 52:57 (against Texas State and Baylor) out of 923:08 of match time so far this season. Texas has scored first in 24 of its last 31 total matches dating back to the start of 2017.
- With her match-tying score at 56:40 against Baylor, freshman forward Mackenzie McFarland registered her second career goal on her second career shot on goal. For her effort, the Coppell, Texas, native was honored for the second time this season as the Big 12 Conference's Freshman of the Week (Sept. 25).
- Junior goalkeeper Nicole Curry's career goals-against-average of 0.69 is currently the lowest mark in school history, 0.15 ahead of standout UT net minder Abby Smith's career GAA of 0.84 (2012-15).
- Junior forward Cyera Hintzen has scored a point in eight of 10 Texas matches this year (a goal in six-of-10), currently rates first in the Big 12 with eight goals in 2018, has equaled the school career record for "golden goals" with three and owns five career goals in the 82nd minute or later in a match (all five have been match-winners!).
