- Texas defeated No. 21 Baylor on Wednesday, 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-15) to open its home season in Big 12 Conference play. In the match, the Longhorns hit .333 with three players hitting .385 or better (5+ kills - White 10 kills, .588, Eggleston 6 kills, .385, Johnson 5 kills, .455) and four players had four or more blocks (Butler and Johnson 6, Shook 5, Luketic 4).
- Through two conference matches, White leads the Longhorns in kills with 31 (3.88/set), hitting .438. Johnson leads in hitting percentage with 14 kills on 23 swings with only one error at .565, Shook leads with 84 assists (10.50), Petersen leads in digs with 26 (3.25/set), and Butler leads in blocks with 13 (1.62).
-Texas has begun the Big 12 Conference season with a 2-0 record for nine-straight seasons.
-Junior Micaya White has nine or more kills in all 10 matches and has hit .200 or better in all of them. She is averaging a .305 hitting percentage in 2018 for the highest clip of her career so far.
-Freshman Sydney Petersen is averaging 3.32 digs per set and has led Texas in digs in seven matches this season. If the season ended today, Petersen would land fifth on the all-time digs per set list.
-Sophomore Ashley Shook has 24 blocks in 10 matches, averaging 0.63/set. That number is up from the 2017 season where she had 58 total blocks for 0.55/set.
-Senior Morgan Johnson has 14 kills in Texas' two conference matches and is averaging a team-best .565 hitting percentage. She has committed only one error on 23 swings.
