Race Information
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas Women's Cross Country team will run in the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M University on Saturday. The Longhorns will answer the starter's gun at 9:45 a.m. on the 6,000-meter Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas.
"This weekend is a great opportunity for four student-athletes who weren't able to race at the Chile Pepper or Oregon invitational," UT women's distance coach PattiSue Plumer said. "It's a very good field and it will be the first chance for most of the women that we have entered in this meet to race against strong competition. I'm excited to see how they rise to the challenge."
The Longhorn women are receiving votes in the latest USTFCCCA national poll and are ranked second in the South Central Region. One other competitor, Cal Baptist, is also receiving votes nationally. Seventeen of the 30 competing women's squads are regionally ranked.
The Texas women are coming off of a second-place finish in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Oct. 5 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
