- Texas is making its 14th all-time appearance (and third consecutive - for the first time since 2006-08) in the NCAA Tournament, owning an 8-13-2 overall record in the event. UT is 4-9-2 on the road in NCAA play. Overall, under the guidance of head coach Angela Kelly, the Longhorns are making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance (2-3-1 record). Amazingly, this is Texas' FIFTH ALL-TIME VISIT to College Station, Texas, for NCAA play (2001, 2002, 2007, 2014, 2019), but UT has faced Texas A&M just once in the field of 64. The Longhorns knocked off the Aggies in that lone NCAA Second Round contest back in the 2007 NCAA Tournament, 3-2.
- The Burnt Orange & White will be renewing their old rivalry against Texas A&M with the Aggies leading the all-time series, 18-5-2. UT is just 1-8-0 all-time in College Station, but that lone win occurred during the 2007 NCAA Tournament Second Round, 3-2. The Aggies are 3-0-2 over the last five meetings and won the last overall match-up between the two programs back on Oct. 28, 2011, in Austin, 3-0.
- Senior forward Cyera Hintzen (three NCAA goals, six NCAA points) is closing in on becoming the most prolific NCAA scorer in program history. The Garland, Texas, native enters Friday tied with former Longhorns standout Kelsey Carpenter (2004-07) for the most NCAA goals in school annals (three) and is just two points from tying Carpenter for the most NCAA points (eight) in program history.
- Texas was well represented in the release of the annual Big 12 soccer awards, putting FIVE PLAYERS on the various league squads. Sophomore midfielder Julia Grosso picked up All-Big 12 First Team honors (her second career league accolade), while senior forward Cyera Hintzen, junior midfielder Haley Berg and sophomore defender Emma Regan were all tabbed to the All-Big 12 Second Team. With her selection, Hintzen became just the fifth Longhorns player to ever receive league honors all four years of her career, while Berg picked up her third straight selection. Forward Sydney Nobles finished off UT's honorees with a Big 12 All-Freshman Team inclusion.
- The injury bug has taken a bite out of the Longhorns this season as senior forward Cyera Hintzen missed three matches (Monmouth, Providence, Grambling) for precautionary reasons following a clash of heads/collision on Sept. 13 against Washington. Sophomore forward Julia Grosso, sophomore forward Mackenzie McFarland and sophomore midfielder Carlee Allen all missed the recent Big 12 Quarterfinal match against TCU. Also included among the lengthy list who've missed time with injury this season are: redshirt junior forward Cydney Billups (missed first five matches), senior defender Emma Jett (missed first two matches and was limited over the next two, also missed the match at Baylor), junior midfielder Emily Strouphauer (still out rehabbing an ACL injury) and redshirt junior forward Tecora Turner (missed two matches against Washington & Monmouth and is now out again after having knee surgery on Oct. 18).
- Texas is 18-2-1 over the past two seasons when scoring first in a match and 8-1-0 when doing so during the 2019 campaign with the only loss this year coming to No. 17 Texas Tech on Oct. 27, 2-1 (OT).
- The Longhorns have now won 28 consecutive matches in which they scored two-or-more goals in a contest dating back to the start of the 2017 season. The last time Texas failed to win when tickling the twine on two occasions was in a 3-2 defeat at TCU back on Oct. 28, 2016.
- After going just 2-8 in one-goal matches back in 2016, the Longhorns have since turned around their fortunes in such contests by going 25-12 in their last 37 one-goal matches since beginning 2017 (7-4 so far in 2019).
- Texas finished undefeated on the road in Big 12 play this season, going 4-0, to post its first flawless league road slate since going 5-0 back in 2006. The last time before this occurrence that the Longhorns posted at least three league road wins in a single campaign was 2014.
- The Longhorns have faced a tough schedule this season as 11-of-18 played opponents currently own winning records and 11 opponents own 10-or-more victories (Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Colorado, Monmouth, Gonzaga, Washington, TCU, Grambling, Denver and West Virginia). According to the most recent NCAA strength of schedule rankings, Texas has played the 44th toughest slate in NCAA Division I.
- Texas has spread the scoring around in a major way in 2019 as 11 DIFFERENT LONGHORNS have scored goals and 13 different players own points. Keep in mind that in 2018, the Burnt Orange & White had 10 different goal scorers over an entire 21-match season. The most players registering goals during a single campaign since Angela Kelly took over was 13 back in 2013.
- With time running short, Texas' offense seems to step up to the challenge as SEVEN of the Longhorns 2019 match-winning goals have come in the 62nd-minute or later. Four of those (Gonzaga, at Kansas State, TCU, at Oklahoma) have been scored in the 81st-minute or later with the last three occurring at the 86:02 (K-State), 87:34 (TCU) and 107:25 (at Oklahoma) marks. In all, nine of Texas' 11 match-winning goals this season have been scored during the second half.
- Call her "Clutch Cyera' as senior forward Cyera Hintzen has scored a remarkable seven career match-winning goals in the 81st-minute or later following her 88th-minute goal to beat TCU, 1-0. Two of those have come this season (previously scored to beat Gonzaga at 80:56 on Aug. 22).
