AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for the individual lead and the No. 2 Texas women's golf team holds a three-stroke advantage on Sunday through 36 holes at the Evans Derby Experience at Saugahatchee Country Club.
The Longhorns have carded a three-over-par two-round total of 579 [290-289]. No. 3 Duke is in second place with a six-over-par 582 [293-289], while No. 8 Arkansas is third with an eight-over-par 584 [285-299]. Texas is one of 10 teams in the 14-team field ranked among the nation's top-25 squads according to Golfstat.
As a team, the Longhorns have recorded the best par-three scoring average [3.05, +2] among all teams in the field. Texas' combined 26 birdies through 36 holes are second-most of any team in the Evans Derby Experience. The Longhorns have also totaled 120 pars on the week.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for the individual lead with a two-under-par two-round total of 142 [72-70]. Papp is tied with Florida's Clara Manzalini. Her second-round 70 marked the best score of the day for the Longhorns and Papp's team-leading 14th round at par or better this season. Papp has carded a squad-best eight birdies on the week. She is also tied for the best par-four scoring average [3.95, -1] of all individuals in the field.
- Sophomore Agathe Laisne is tied for eighth place with an even-par 144 [70-74]. She has 27 pars and five birdies on the week.
- Freshman Sara Kouskova is tied for 12th with a one-over-par 145 [74-71]. Her second-round 71 marked her eighth round this season at par or better.
- Freshman Hailee Cooper is tied for 25th with a four-over-par 148 [74-74]. She has carded a team-leading 28 pars this week to complement two birdies.
- Senior Maddie Luitwieler, competing as an individual, is tied for 31st with a six-over-par 150 [72-78].
- Junior Emilee Hoffman is tied for 65th with an 11-over-par 155.
