Cooper leads No. 2 Women's Golf on opening day of Bruzzy Challenge

Freshman Hailee Cooper fired a five-under-par 67 in Monday's second round.
ARGYLE, Texas – Freshman Hailee Cooper fired a second-round 67 on Monday and currently is seven-under-par, leading the No. 2 Texas women's golf team through the first 36 holes of the Bruzzy Challenge at Lantana Golf Club.
The Longhorns are currently in 10th place overall with a four-over-par two-round total of 580 [292-288]. Ole Miss leads the field with an 18-under-par 558 [276-282].
As a team, the Longhorns carded 119 total pars and 28 birdies through the opening two rounds.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Cooper is tied for fourth with a seven-under-par 137 [70-67]. She posted her team-leading 14th and 15th rounds this season at par or better. Her five-under-par 67 in the second round marked her fifth round this season in the 60s. In that second round, she carded six birdies and 11 pars. Through the first 36 holes, she has the second-best scoring average of all competitors on par-four holes [3.75, -5].
- Freshman Sara Kouskova is tied for 21st with a one-under-par 143 [71-72]. She recorded her ninth and 10th rounds this season at par or better.
- Junior Maren Cipolla [74-76] and senior Maddie Luitwieler [77-73] are tied for 63rd with six-over-par 150s.
- Junior Kelly Xac is tied for 75th with a 13-over-par 157 [81-76].
