No. 2 Women's Golf in third after weather-shortened second day of NCAA Championship

The stroke-play portion of the NCAA Championship has been shortened to 54 holes.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman Hailee Cooper carded a four-under-par 69 on Saturday to lead the No. 2 Texas women's golf team on the second day of the NCAA Championship at Blessings Golf Club.
The second day of the NCAA Championship was suspended at 12:15 p.m. CT Saturday due to inclement weather and did not resume. Teams will recommence the second round on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT. A pair of Longhorns Emilee Hoffman [on 17] and Agathe Laisne [on 18] still have holes to be completed as part of the second round of stroke play.
The stroke-play portion of the NCAA Championship will be shortened from 72 holes to 54 holes. All 24 teams and 12 individuals in the tournament will compete again on Monday, with the pairings for that round being determined by their 36-hole score [leaders in the afternoon wave]. The stroke-play portion of the championship will culminate with the individual medalist being determined following the 54 holes on Monday. The field will then be cut to the top eight teams which advance to the match play quarterfinals.
The Longhorns currently are in third place overall at 11-over-par. Texas was one-over on the day when play was suspended.
Cooper turned in a four-under-par 69 on Saturday and is currently tied for 22nd place with a three-over-par 149 [80-69]. For Cooper, it was her sixth round this season in the 60s and her team-leading 18th round at par or better.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for 36th with a five-over-par 151 [77-74], while freshman Sara Kouskova is tied for 85th with a nine-over-par 155 [78-77].
Hoffman, who has two holes to complete in the second round, is three-over par in the round and two-over for the tournament. Laisne, who has one hole remaining in the second round, is one-over in the round and three-over for the week.
