No. 3 Volleyball tops No. 13 BYU, 3-1

WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 3 Texas Volleyball team took down No. 13 BYU at the Shocker Volleyball Classic at Wichita State on Friday evening, 3-1; 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-18, behind stellar performances from pins Logan Eggleston and Micaya White.
The outside hitter duo combined for 46 kills and 25 digs. Sophomore Logan Eggleston, who was fresh off a career-high against Stanford, put down a new personal best in kills with 25, on .367 hitting, adding 11 digs, one ace, and one block. Senior Micaya White recorded a season-high 21 kills on .347 hitting. She tallied her third double-double of the season with 14 digs. She also chalked up four blocks and two aces.
Defensively, sophomore libero Sydney Petersen led the match with a season-best 19 digs. Petersen added six assists and an ace to her stat line. Fellow defensive specialist senior Claire Hahn added 11 digs. At the net, freshman middle blocker Molly Phillips added seven blocks while tallying four kills.
Sophomore setter Jhenna Gabriel dished out 49 assists to the tune of a .326 team hitting percentage. She also added nine digs and two blocks.
Texas returns to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. as the Longhorns take on tournament host Wichita State at Charles Koch Arena.
