No. 3 Volleyball sweeps Wichita State

Micaya White and Logan Eggleston land on All-Tournament Team following impressive weekend performances.
WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 3 Texas Volleyball team took down Shocker Volleyball Classic host Wichita State, 3-0; 25-13, 25-9, 25-15, on Saturday evening in the final match of the weekend at Charles Koch Arena.
Senior Micaya White was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player following a 13-0-23 performance where she hit .565, adding nine digs and two blocks.
Sophomore Logan Eggleston joined White on the All-Tournament Team after a 14-kill outing, hitting .478, adding three digs, two aces, and two blocks.
In the middle, sophomore Asjia O'Neal put down seven kills on just nine attempts and did not commit a single error for a .778 hitting percentage. O'Neal added two aces and a block. In two sets in the middle, senior Orie Abaji put down five kills on seven swings, hitting .714. She added three blocks on the evening.
Freshman Skylar Fields added seven kills, hitting .389 while recording a team-high four blocks.
Sophomore setter Jhenna Gabriel dished out 39 assists, and sophomore libero Sydney Petersen added a season-high 20 digs.
Texas returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. CT at Rice University in Houston.
