Guo, Cotton record top-20 finishes as Women's Golf concludes Schooner Fall Classic

Sophomore Sophie Guo tied for 15th individually.
NORMAN, Okla. – Texas sophomore Sophie Guo and freshman Bentley Cotton each recorded top-20 individual finishes on Monday to conclude the Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club. The Longhorns finished the event in 10th place with a 47-over-par three-round total of 887 [294-296-297] on the par-70 course.
Guo tied for 15th overall with a seven-over-par 217 [73-71-73], while Cotton tied for 19th with an eight-over-par 218 [72-73-73]. Junior Hailee Cooper finished in a tie for 29th place at 11-over-par with a 221 [72-73-76]. Freshman Ashley Park tied for 49th with a 21-over-par 231 [77-79-75].
"A tough start to the season playing without three of our regulars, but a good opportunity for our freshmen," Texas head coach Ryan Murphy said. "In the final results, it doesn't look pretty, but I watched several great moments from each of them this week. We'll take the positives that we can find and go back to the drawing board as we always do."
Texas returns to action Oct. 10-11 when it plays host to the Betsy Rawls Invitational at UT Golf Club.
