No. 3 Baseball wins 5-2 over No. 24 Oklahoma State to sweep doubleheader

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 3 Texas Baseball beat No. 24 Oklahoma State, 5-2, to sweep both games of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday evening at O'brate Stadium. Texas (33-8, 12-2) has won 16 consecutive games and 10-straight series.
Douglas Hodo III, Mike Antico and Ivan Melendez each homered to lead the Longhorns their 16th-straight win.
Tristan Stevens (7-1) earned the win with another strong start, throwing seven innings and allowing two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven. The right-hander has thrown seven innings in each of his last four starts.
Oklahoma State (23-12-1, 6-8) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second after three singles brought home the first run of the game.
Texas took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth after Zach Zubia drew leadoff walk and Hodo drilled a two-run home run to left field to put the Longhorns out in front.
Antico made it 3-1 in the fifth with a two-out solo shot to right field for his sixth home run of the season.
The Longhorns added two more in the sixth to make it 5-1 when Zubia opened the frame with another leadoff walk and Melendez followed with a rocket to left field for his team-leading ninth home run.
Oklahoma got a run back in the bottom of the sixth, cutting the Texas lead to 5-2 courtesy three walks and a sacrifice fly to center.
In the seventh, Antico led off the inning with a walk and stole second on the next pitch to move into scoring position.
Tanner Witt earned his third save of the season, striking out four batters in two shutout innings to close out the game.
Texas will go for the sweep of Oklahoma State tomorrow afternoon at O'brate Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
