No. 3 Baseball drop series finale to No. 24 Oklahoma State, 7-3

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 3 Texas Baseball fell in the series finale to No. 24 Oklahoma State, 7-3, on Sunday afternoon at O'brate Stadium. The loss ends the Longhorns' 16-game winning streak, Texas' longest since 2010 and tied for the 16th-longest in program history.
Mitchell Daly crushed his second home run of the year to pace the Texas offense.
Oklahoma State (24-12-1, 7-8) jumped out in front in the first, scoring three runs with a two-run home run, a double and a base hit to take an early 3-0 lead.
The Cowboys added another two-run home run in the second to extend their lead to 5-0.
Texas (33-9, 12-3) got on the board in the third, plating a run to make it 5-1. Murphy Stehly and Trey Faltine opened the inning with back-to-back base hits, then Mike Antico walked to load the bases. Daly stepped in and hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Stehly.
Oklahoma State tacked on two more runs with a home run in the fifth inning, pushing their advantage to 7-1.
In the sixth, a Dylan Campbell sacrifice fly to center brought home Zach Zubia to cut the deficit to 7-2.
Daly brought another run across in the seventh with a solo home run to left to make it 7-3.
Lucas Gordon pitched well in relief, tossing two shutout innings, allowing one walk and no hits while striking out one batter.
Jared Southard got the final two outs for the Longhorns, striking out two, while allowing one hit and no runs, extending his scoreless innings string to 7 1/3 for the season.
With a pair of walks, Zubia extended his reached base streak to 18 games.
Next up, Texas returns home for a five-game homestand, beginning with a matchup against Incarnate Word on Tuesday. First pitch at UFCU Disch-Falk Field is slated for 6:30 p.m.
