Tournament Notes
The Field: In addition to the Longhorns (No. 12 in the latest Division I Bushnell Golfweek Coaches poll on April 1), the 15-team field includes: No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 23 Illinois, Alabama, Augusta (host), Chattanooga, Furman, Georgia State, Mercer, Navy, North Florida, Northwestern, South Carolina and UCF.
The Texas Lineup: UT will be represented by the following five players at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational presented by Valspar:

It's Been a While: Texas will have its full lineup at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational presented by Valspar for the first time since mid-October. Both Coody twins suffered injuries late in the fall, and Pierceson Coody will make his return to the lineup this weekend. Parker Coody returned to the lineup at the Southern Highlands Collegiate (Feb. 27-March 1) and has played in each of the last two tournaments.
Last Time Out: On the strength of a final-round 16-under-par 272, the Longhorns finished in second place in the Arizona N.I.T. at OMNI Tucson National (Tucson, Ariz.) on March 18-19. Texas completed the tourney with a 54-hole score of 32-under-par 832 (280-280-272), while Oklahoma State captured the team title at 53-under-par 811. The Longhorns placed ahead of No. 7 Pepperdine in third at 28-under 836 and No. 1 Oklahoma in fourth at 27-under 837. Individually, Cole Hammer paced UT with a tie for fifth at 11-under-par 205 (68-67-70) and Travis Vick tied for 11th at 8-under-par 208 (70-69-69). Parker Coody fired a career-best 8-under 64 in the final round. His 64 tied for the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history, and his score of 8-under-par tied for the second-lowest 18-hole round vs. par in program history.
Big 12 Match Play Champs: The Longhorns earned a 3-2-1 victory against No. 10 Texas Tech on Oct. 13 in the title match of the 2021 Big 12 Match Play Championship at the Clubs at Houston Oaks (Hockley, Texas). This marked UT's first Big 12 Match Play title since the event began in 2018. Texas posted wins in Pool B play against TCU (4-2-0), Baylor (5-1-0) and Iowa State (3-0-3) along with a 3-3-0 tie against then-No. 2 Oklahoma State. The tie with the Cowboys gave the Longhorns a total of 10 points to secure the top spot in Pool B and advance to the championship match against Texas Tech. Pierceson Coody and Mason Nome each registered perfect 5-0-0 individual match play records at the Big 12 Match Play Championship.
PGA TOUR University presented by Velocity Global: The Velocity Global Ranking is designed to identify the best college golfers based on winning, competitiveness and season-long performance. It includes the final two years of competition in NCAA Division I men's golf tournaments and official PGA TOUR tournaments. The ranking is updated weekly on Wednesdays and will be finalized on May 30, 2022, following the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA Championship. The top five finishers will earn membership on Korn Ferry Tour, while players finishing sixth-15th will earn membership on a PGA TOUR international tour. In the most recent ranking (March 30), Pierceson Coody is No. 2, Cole Hammer is No. 6 and Parker Coody is No. 25.
