MANITOBA, Canada — Former University of Texas All-American Parker Coody claimed his first title as a professional by winning the PGA Tour Canada's CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open on Sunday at Southwood Golf and Country Club. Coody, who turned professional in early June after leading the Longhorns to the 2022 National Championship, earned the win in just his sixth career start on the PGA TOUR Canada.
Coody posted a 72-hole score of 27-under-par 261 (65-62-67-67) to finish eight strokes in front of runner-up Ian Holt at 19-under 269. Coody registered a 10-under-par 62 in Saturday's second round. Playing 36 holes on Sunday, he shot back-to-back 5-under 67s to close out the victory. Former Longhorn Gavin Hall tied for third at the event with a four-round score of 18-under-par 270 (66-68-70-66).
Coody finished his collegiate season ranked No. 13 on the 2022 PGA TOUR University presented by Velocity Global Ranking, earning membership on a PGA TOUR international tour this summer. He is also exempt into the Second Stage of the current season's Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament. In just six starts this summer, Coody has jumped into the No. 7 spot on the PGA TOUR Canada's Regular Season Points List.
