The Longhorns 21-member signing class is ranked No. 3 by Baseball America.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball and head coach David Pierce have announced the signing of 21 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. The class is ranked as the No. 3 signing class in the country, according to Baseball America.
"Our 2024 recruiting class is an incredible group of players as well as great young men," Pierce said. "This class is loaded with talent from pitchers and position players. I like everything about the class from character, work ethic, talent and the love and passion for baseball. They have expressed their desire to compete on the field and in the classroom for the University of Texas, which really excites our staff. The 2024 class puts Texas Baseball in a great position to continue to have opportunity to compete at the highest level in college baseball."
"Our recruiting team consists of many people from our academic staff, support staff, players and coaches. I am very thankful and grateful for the incredible work and dedication they put in to bring these players in from across the country to make Texas Baseball a true contender year in and year out. I especially want to thank our recruiting coordinator Caleb Longley for his tireless work to lead our recruiting team. I am equally proud of the great job all our coaches did this recruiting season. Philip Miller and Steve Rodriguez spent many hours on the road away from their families to land the 2024 class. A huge thanks to Carli Todd, Chris Gordon, Troy Tulowitzki, Matt Couch and Tom Mendez for their countless hours on campus preparing and spending time with all our recruits. I'm very proud and honored to serve our student athletes and I have great confidence that Texas Baseball looks bright for many years to come. Congratulations to our 2024 class and welcome to the Forty Acres!"
The recruiting class consists of 10 high school student-athletes from Texas, three from California, as well as one from Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Mississippi, New York and North Carolina. Additionally, two junior college transfers from Texas are part of the class.
