Baseball falls to Missouri on walk-off

The Longhorns will look to salvage the weekend against No. 10 Vanderbilt on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Baseball lost a second-straight one-run game, falling 6-5 on a walk-off to Missouri on Saturday at Globe Life Field.
The Longhorns (0-2) will close out the College Baseball Showdown against No. 10 Vanderbilt (1-1) on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Texas trailed 4-1 early before clawing back into the game and went on to tie it in the seventh inning. Missouri was able to break the tie for the final time on a pair of hits in the bottom of the ninth.
Mitchell Daly went 1-for-4 with a walk and two run scored and Jayden Duplantier was 1-for-3 with a two-run double.
Missouri grabbed an early 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first on three singles and a sacrifice fly.
The Longhorns tied the game 1-1 in the top of the second after a pair of errors on the Tigers. Daly singled and then advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt before another ball was thrown away on the play that allowed him to score.
The Tigers retook the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second with three runs on three hits and two errors.
Texas got two runs back in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-3 on a two-out two-RBI ground-rule double by Duplantier. The hit was the first of the career for the freshman from Humble, Texas.
Zane Morehouse started and pitched four innings, being charged for four runs (three earned) on eight hits. He did finish on a high note, with back-to-back scoreless innings and four strikeouts in that span.
David Shaw made his Texas debut, coming out of the bullpen and pitching a scoreless fifth inning with two strikeouts.
Missouri added a run to its lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 5-3.
Texas tied the game up 5-5 with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning. Dylan Campbell and Jalin Flores both worked walks before Jack O'Dowd cut the lead to one run with an RBI single. Flores tied the game up by scoring on a wild pitch.
DJ Burke pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief and allowed one run, while Heston Tole pitched one scoreless inning and Chris Stuart went 2/3 of an inning with no runs scored.
